This delicious Aloe Vera Tropical Smoothie is a great way to increase nutrient intake while getting additional gut healing benefits. Aloe is used topically to heal burns, wounds, or other skin conditions - but is also taken orally, as a dietary supplement, for gastrointestinal conditions like constipation, reflux and ulcers.

Additionally, aloe vera contains vitamin A, C, E and B12 and minerals including zinc, copper, selenium, and calcium. This recipe is refreshing, sweet, and only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup frozen strawberries

  • ½ cup frozen mangos

  • ½ cup frozen pineapple

  • ½ frozen banana

  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera juice

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice, coconut water (unsweetened), or unsweetened coconut milk

Materials

  • A high-powered blender like a Vitamix 

A note on ingredient quality: If possible, choose ingredients that are organic and non-GMO. Stores such as Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Whole Foods, and other health food stores can help finding higher-quality ingredients. If access to higher quality ingredients isn't an option for you, choose the best option that is available to you locally.

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
